Bp. Zacharias Cenita Jimenez returned to the Father on April 19, 2018. Bishop Ite, as he was fondly called by the faithful, was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Butuan on June 11, 2003. He served the diocese in this capacity for six years until he resigned on May 7, 2009. After his resignation, Bp. Jimenez continued his ministry as Executive Director of the Diocese of Butuan Educational System Board, lecturer in Saint Peter College Seminary, and parish priest of Our Mother of Perpetual Help in Brgy. Holy Redeemer. He succumbed to a lingering illness last April.
