NATIONAL CATHOLIC MEDIA CONVENTION 2018

The Diocese of Butuan was represented in the recently concluded National Catholic Media Convention held in Davao City from Aug. 6-9, 2018.  The convention was organized by the Episcopal Commission on Social Communication headed by Bp. Mylo Vergara, D.D.


Most Rev. Antonio J. Ledesma, SJ, D.D. conferred to four seminarians the Sacred Order of

Deacons last July 30, 2018 at Saint Joseph Cathedral, Butuan City. The new deacons are

Sem. Fausto James A. Cabungcal of the Presentation of the Lord and the Purification of Our Lady Parish, Cabadbaran City, Sem. Bryan Burias Exclamador of Nuestra Señora del Rosario Parish, Magallanes, Agusan del Norte, Sem. Cryslyr Kenny J. Gildo of San Lorenzo de Manila Diocesan Shrine, Taglatawan, Agusan del Sur, and Sem. Nelbert A. Grana of St. James the Great Parish, Santiago, Agusan del Norte. They are now assigned to various parishes for their continuing formation and exposure to pastoral ministry. The faithful are requested to pray for the new deacons as they enter the last stage of their formation preceding their ordination as priests.

The Diocese of Butuan announces the ordination of four of its sons into the Sacred Order of Deacons. The Most Rev. Antonio J. Ledesma, SJ, D.D. will officiate the conferment on July 30, 2018 at two o’clock in the afternoon at Saint Joseph Cathedral, Butuan City. The four seminarians are Sem. Fausto James A. Cabungcal of the Presentation of the Lord and the Purification of Our Lady Parish, Cabadbaran City,

Sem. Bryan Burias Exclamador of Nuestra Señora del Rosario Parish, Magallanes, Agusan del Norte, Sem. Cryslyr Kenny J. Gildo of San Lorenzo de Manila Diocesan Shrine, Taglatawan, Agusan del Sur, and Sem. Nelbert A. Grana of St. James the Great Parish, Santiago, Agusan del Norte. The months preceding their ordination have been helpful in preparing them to their new ministry as they were exposed to various apostolates within the diocese. The faithful are requested to pray fervently for the candidates and their future ministry in the Church.
